The dawn tiptoes through
Shuttered streets
Where night still dreams
Drugged in yesterday’s sleep
The wind blows
Dried leaves
Fallen under brooding trees
Where last summer’s music weeps
When the sun’s first rays spilled
Through clouded reams
Of my slumbering reverie
Yesterday took my leave
Unknown to me
