The flower in its cupped hands
Clasps the seeds
Of life unknown
Tomorrow sleeps snug
Curled in a cinnamon dream
The hummingbird and the bumblebee tumble
And dip their lips to lick
The sunshine sweet
The inky pink petals flutter
Despair like feathers on a duster
The dream can be nipped
Snipped with a scissors’ clip
Clasps the seeds
Of life unknown
Tomorrow sleeps snug
Curled in a cinnamon dream
The hummingbird and the bumblebee tumble
And dip their lips to lick
The sunshine sweet
The inky pink petals flutter
Despair like feathers on a duster
The dream can be nipped
Snipped with a scissors’ clip
Liked the poem short and sweet capturing those small little things in life which we forget to see. Thanks for an art which is forgotten in this world of 140 characters
ReplyDeleteI remember
"Whats this life if full of care
If we have no time to stand and stare"
Excellent! But something of a gloomy ending. Despair like feathers on a duster is a nice analogy but it does not lead us to a new light. I personally do not like my dreams to be snipped
ReplyDeleteAnon, Yeskay, TrueNationist... Thanks. That's a beautiful comment. I'll treasure it :)
ReplyDeletekdpgrahi.. it is about the uncertainties of life.. i wrote it in a gloomy mindset.. i write my poems to express my emotional self, and not particularly to teach anything. though, if that becomes an emotion, i may even do that. nobody likes their dreams to be snipped, but they sometimes are.. part of life. Thanks for reading and giving me a thought provoking comment.
